Its History
Founded in 1914 by Jean Patou, Maison Patou quickly became one of the symbols of Parisian fashion. The First World War forced him to stop his activity, but upon returning from the front, he revived his label. The young couturier sought to free women from the rigid dress codes of the time: he designed corset-free dresses, shortened skirts, launched a sportswear line meant to be worn in the city, and created a monogram with his initials — now one of the brand’s emblems. After a period of inactivity, the brand was revived in 2018 under the artistic direction of Guillaume Henry, also known for his work at Carven and Nina Ricci
Patou Today
Today, Patou develops accessible and responsible fashion, produced in small series and made from carefully sourced materials. Each collection highlights a contemporary approach to the feminine wardrobe. Patou’s creations explore everyday life with particular attention to cut and detail, blending references to the House’s archives with a modern view of the city.
